Electricity Monitor Settings

To edit a the settings for an Electricity Monitor, navigate to the Devices Configuration plugin and choose the desired device from the list. A device type specific editor will open.

Single-Phase Device Settings

Device Settings for Single Phase Electricity Monitor

  1. Device Label. Should be unique and descriptive for easy identification.
  2. Sample Mode (advanced). Change the method used to sample data. NOTE: The default sample mode is COS and should not be modified unless instructed to do so. If set incorrectly, this setting can have a significant impact on system bandwidth and responsiveness.
    • Change of State (COS) only sends data when it detects a change in value.
    • Polled mode sends readings at a fixed interval.
  3. Sample Mode Options (advanced). Options are presented based on the Sample Mode selected.
    • When Sample Mode is set to Change Of State, this specifies the minimum difference in wattage readings for a new data point to be recorded.
    • When Sample Mode is set to Polled, this specifies the period in seconds at which data points will be captured.
  4. Sensor Label. A user defined label for identifying this sensor.
  5. Sensor Type. Select the sensor that matches your sensor specifications. NOTE: This value will impact the readings from the hardware if chosen incorrectly.
  6. Sensor Inverted. Flip the polarity of your sensors (i.e. negative readings will become positive readings and vice-versa).
  7. Current (A) Multiplier (advanced). An additional multiplier to be applied to your current reading (i.e. if the sensor is clamped on a single conductor of a parallel feed).
  8. Voltage (Nominal) (advanced). An additional multiplier to be applied to your current reading. NOTE: this setting automatically adjusts the Voltage Multiplier.
  9. Voltage (V) Multiplier (advanced). An additional multiplier to be applied to your voltage reading (i.e. if the sensor is clamped on a single conductor of a balanced 240V circuit).

 

3-Phase Settings

Device Settings for 3-Phase Electricity Monitor

  1. Power Supply (advanced). Select the power supply connected to the electricity monitor. NOTE: This value will impact the readings from the hardware if chosen incorrectly.
  2. Configuration. Set the voltage configuration for the panel that you are monitoring. Options are:
    • 3-Phase Wye.
    • 3-Phase Delta.
    • 3-Phase High-Leg Delta.
    • 3-Phase Corner Grounded Delta.
    • Single Phase.
  3. System Voltage. Define the nominal voltage of the system being monitored. NOTE: This value will impact the readings from the hardware if chosen incorrectly.
  4. PF to Use (advanced). Set the phase to be used when calculating power factor. This should match the phase that your Eyedro device powered from. NOTE: the default value is Auto Detect and should not be modified unless instructed to do so.

 

Legacy Device Settings

Device Settings for Legacy Electricity Monitors

  1. Device Label. Label should be unique and descriptive for easy identification.
  2. Line Frequency (advanced). Do not modify this parameter unless you are in a country/region that has a 50Hz line frequency. For North American installations this value should be set to 60Hz.
  3. Sample Mode (advanced). Changes the method used to sample data. NOTE: The default sample mode is COS and should not be modified unless instructed to do so. If set incorrectly, this setting can have a significant impact on system bandwidth and responsiveness.
    • Change of State (COS) only sends data when it detects a change in value.
    • Polled mode sends readings at a fixed interval, as specified by Poll Rate (default is 30 seconds).
  4. Sensor Label. A user defined label for identifying this sensor.
  5. Sensor Type. Set the sensor type to the list entry that matches your sensor specifications. NOTE: This value will impact the readings from the hardware if chosen incorrectly.
  6. Configuration (advanced). Determine whether the system is monitoring single-phase or 3-phase power as well as the type of 3-phase configuration.
  7. Voltage. Set a constant voltage reading for power calculation.
  8. Power Factor (advanced). Set a constant power factor reading for power calculation.
  9. Current Multiplier (advanced). An additional multiplier to be applied to your current reading (i.e. if the sensor is clamped on a single conductor of a parallel feed).
