How to Use the Bills Plugin

Purpose:

This post will explain how to use the Bills plugin.

It is important to note that for the Bills plugin to work, your Rate Settings must have been set up first. You can find the How-to for that Here.

Finally, this plugin is for informational purposes only. The actual bill will be provided by your electrical utility.

Instructions:

Click on the icon in the lower left of the My.Eyedro.com display. This is the plugin menu.
Select Bills.
Select the Display Group you wish to view from the dropdown menu.
The Billing History graph shows the current month’s usage as well as the past 11 months usage in kWh. Hover your mouse over a month’s bar to see the amount used.
The Daily Cost (Total) graph shows a daily breakdown of costs in dollars for the currently selected billing period.
Billing period start and end dates can be adjusted. Click on the pencil icon to access settings. You can refresh the graph with the button next to the pencil.
Bill To Date shows all consumption and costs for this billing period to date.
The Est. shows the estimated cost for this billing period based on historical usage data.
Click the + in both grids to see the breakdown of other fees.

How to Set Up Daily Tiered Rates

Purpose:

To explain how to set up Daily Tiered Rates in My.Eyedro.com. This post assumes that you have already read How to Set Up Your Rate Profile and How to Set Up Tiered Rates.

Instructions:

Navigate to Bill Profile
Set rate structure to Daily Tiered
Click on the Rates tab
If you have weekend specific rates, click the checkbox
Do the same if you have holiday specific rates
Set your Tiers to match your rates from your utility
Repeat this process for all seasons

How to Set Up Tiered Rates

How to Set Up Tiered Rates

Purpose:

This post will explain how to set up a Tiered Rate Structure in My.Eyedro.com.

Note: if you have not read How To Set Up Your Rate Profile, read that post first as this post assumes you have already done so.

Instructions:

In the General tab of Bill Profile set rate structure to Tiered.
How tiered billing works – as you use electricity each billing period, your rates will increase after certain thresholds are reached. For example, Tier 1 will cover 0 to 1000 kWh with one per kWh fee, then from 1000 kWh to 2000 kWh will be the next tier with a different fee, and so on until the highest tier covers any other usage for the billing period.
To set your tiers correctly you will need the rates from your electrical utility.
Tier 1 ALWAYS starts at zero and goes to a set value. In this post we will use 1000 kWh for explanation purposes.
Tier 2 starts at the same value that Tier 1 ends on (in this example, 1000 kWh), and goes either to a set value or MAX, depending on if it is the top tier or not. To reiterate, Tier 2’s From value is the same as Tier 1’s To value.
My.Eyedro.com starts with three tiers by default. If your utility only has two tiers, click on the third one and click the Delete Tier button in the bottom right of the tab.
In My.Eyedro.com, to edit a tier you need to double click on it.
If your bill has multiple seasons, each season must be set up independently.
Once your tiers match the ones in your utility rates, you have set up the tiered part of your Rate Structure.

How to Set Up Fixed Rates

How to Set Up Fixed Rates

Purpose:

This post will explain how to set up Fixed Rates in My.Eyedro.com. This post assumes that you have already read the How to Set Up Your Rate Profile post.

Instructions:

Navigate to Bill Profiles
Set Rate Structure to Fixed Price
Set the rate to match your utility’s rate profile (with Fixed rates, there should only be one)
If you have weekend specific rates, check the box and enter the value in the tab
Do the same for holiday rates if applicable
Repeat this process for each season if applicable
Click the other fees tab and enter your other fees
Click Save Changes
